‘Bangladesh National Health Accounts 1997-2015’ report show that, 67% of the health expenses are carried by the patient. About 23% is provided by the Government, and private organizations take care of about 3-7% in special cases. That adds up to, 37 dollars or 2,882 taka per person yearly. The report was officially presented by the Health Ministry’s Healthy Economics Unit GS Md. Ashraful Islam. The report concludes that, most of the expense go to buying medicines. Every day people are becoming more reliant on the private sectors.
Including Health Minister Jahid Malek as the chief guest, special guest Md. Shirajul Islam from Health & Family Welfare Ministry, and many were present at the event.
