DOT Desk: [2] The government on Monday renewed request to the United States to expedite the deportation of MA Rashed Chowdhury, a fugitive convict for the murder of the country’s founding president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, reports New Age.
[3] Foreign minister AK Abdul Momen made the request this time to the US ambassador Earl Miller at the foreign ministry and said deportation of Rashed Chowdhury was a priority for the Bangladesh government.
[4] Ambassador Miller called on the minister for handing over a letter of the US secretary of state Mike Pompeo.
[5] Pompeo, in the letter, appreciated Bangladesh’s readiness to support COVID-19 response supply chains, according a press release of the foreign ministry.
