 Advocate Shahinuzzaman Shahin filed the writ on behalf of the Rights group Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) with the High Court bench of Justice Md Mozibur Rahman Miah and Justice Mohi Uddin Shamim yesterday, reports Dhaka Tribune.
 The writ also sought the court’s directives to declare outside court arbitration over a rape incident as a criminal offence, reports bdnews24.com.
 It also sought directives upon respective government offices to implement various HC directives to prevent rape, including completing the trial of rape cases within 180 days as per the existing law.
 According to Sub-section 6 of Section 20 of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, the tribunal can conduct its trial proceedings in a closed-door room (trial in camera), in consideration of any application or if the tribunal deems it appropriate.
The lawyer said, the writ also seeking its directives upon the concerned judges to appropriate practice of the sub-section 6 of Section 20 of the law.
Earlier on October 13, Supreme Court lawyer Yadia Zaman sent a demand for justice notice to the concerned government offices in this regard.
