Saadi Muktafi, one of the renowned musicians and a guitar instructor talked about the present day Bangladeshi music scenario, his Hook’s Music School and his band KRAL in a discussion with Daily Our Time team. He is a physician of Bangladesh Medical College.
He said, “New age guitar players will play better than us”. He encourages his students to listen to all genre of music and start sounding a unique tone of their own. If we get an international exposure by organizing abroad shows, we can develop a lot. When inquired about his band KRAL, he talked about the founding members and the wish to release a new album.
He himself is the lead guitarist, his brother Raef Al Hasan Rafa is the drummer and Adnan Alam is the bass guitarist. When he was asked about the drug scenario in present Bangladeshi music, he stated “Drugs have no impact in your musical ability.”
He added that in Bangladeshi music, this trend has again taken a new toll and that is why parents aren’t allowing their children to be a part of the music industry. This is really a burden and a backlash to the industry. This must be addressed properly and taken measures.
