On the occasion of the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, 292 homeless families of Bhola Borhanuddin have become a shelter, reports press release.
Government’s Asharyan – Under 2 projects, 186 families have been given gift house deeds and certificates in 1st, 2nd, 3rd phase. On the occasion of the 103rd birthday of the Father of the Nation, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate 55 houses out of 106 in the 4th phase through video conference on March 22.
Project Implementation Officer Md Sohel Hossain, Office of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer , said that a total of 186 families have been resettled in the upazila under the project, including 28, 16 and 142 in the first phase, 2nd and 3rd phase respectively. 55 out of 106 houses have been completed in the 4th phase. Which will be distributed by the administration after the inauguration of the distribution program by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on March 22. He also said that by constructing barracks on private land, a single house has been constructed with 2 percent private land settlement. Each house will have two bedrooms, a kitchen, a toilet and a balcony. He also said that priority has been given to beggars, disabled, widows, husband deserters, third gender people and senior citizens in this big event. Beneficiaries are happy to receive Prime Minister’s gifts in Mujib Barsha. Kolli, a third gender member of Pakhya Union, said that the people of the society see us differently. There was nothing to call mud-houses. I don’t want to rent a house. I am now overwhelmed by the generosity of the Prime Minister. Beneficiary Renu Begum of Ward No. 9 of Kutuba, Beauty of Chagla village, Aklima of Ward No. 3 of Hasan Nagar, Ayub Ali of Ward No. 7, Samsul Islam Naoy of Udaipur village said, Sheikh Hasina’s daughter gave her a beautiful house. I can spend the rest of my life here. Many thanks to the Prime Minister. We pray for him. Borhanuddin upazila Nirbahi officer Naureen Haque said, this is an extraordinary event of Mujib year. This is the first and only event in the world. I don’t know the precedent of making so many houses together with no money. Through this project Mother of Humanity set a precedent in the whole world. There are two benefits here. Occupiers have been freed and government land is being used for public welfare.
Upazila Awami League Secretary and Pauro Mayor Md. Rafiqul Islam said, this is the first time in the world that a large number of houses have been handed over to the landless and homeless families at the same time. It is indicative of how the government is going about dealing with the problem of homelessness. Borhanuddin Upazila Chairman Abul Kalam said that the country is on the highway of development under the leadership of the daughter of the father of the nation. The Prime Minister wants no person to be homeless in the country. Everyone will be confused.
