Intel guru, Andy Groves, passed away on the 21st of March, at the age of 79. Andy grove, a Hungarian émigré in collaboration with Robert Noyce and Gordon Moore founded Intel, the multimillion dollar company. Grove’s name had been synonymous with the emergence of the Silicon Valley in the 1980’s and 90’s. He was named Times Magazines man of the year for driving the digital revolution. Many of the industrial bigwigs including Apple’s CEO Tim Cook, Marc Anderson and John Doerr took to twitter and other social media sites to express their deep felt remorse and pay tribute to the great man. Grove, was born in Budapest, he fled communist Hungary in 1956. He later studied chemical engineering at City College of New York and received his PhD in 1963 from the University of California at Berkeley.
