DOT Desk: Ready for an Eid release are eight new movies. However, the films, “Leader: I am Bangladesh” starring Shakib Khan and Anant Jalil’s “Kill Him” have garnered the most audience attention. The teams for both movies have begun their publicity campaigns in full swing with numerous posters, teasers and songs having been released, reports Dhaka Tribune.
The trailer for “Kill Him” was unveiled on the afternoon of April 19, Wednesday. The 2 minute and 52 second trailer shows Anant Jalil in his element, action. However audience responses to his performances have been lacklustre, with some noting his performance was “clumsy”. This may come from viewer fatigue from his usual rowdy action scenes. The overall consensus has been that the two other actors in the film, Misha Sawdagor and Rubel are the actual highlight of Jalil’s movie. The movie “Kill Him” will star Barsha as Anant Jalil’s heroine, featuring in the role of an antagonist. The trailer ends with a shot of the couple where Jalil ask’s his heroine in a scolding tone, “Why did your eyes find me amidst the crowd of 17 crore people?”.Later on the same day, Shakib Khan appeared in the song “Shurma Shurma” for his movie “Leader” with his heroine Bubly. However the romance from the song seemed to be missing between the co-stars, as their performance was marked by a “safe distance”. The romantic song did not see the pair come into contact throughout the whole song. The co-stars Shakib and Bubly reportedly faced interpersonal conflicts during the filming of the movie, which ultimately spilled over into their relationship on screen.
