Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu is going to Saudi Arabia this night to be present at the signing of an agreement with the Saudi Standards, Quality and Metrology Organization (SASO).
The minister is scheduled to fly at 01:30am, said a ministry press
release.
The agreement between Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) and SASO, Saudi Arabian national standard body, would be signed on March 1 (tomorrow).
Apart from attending the signing ceremony, Amu would meet Saudi Commerce and Industry Ministers to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The Bangladeshi minister would meet with the leaders of Council of Saudi Chamber, a platform of entrepreneurs, to increase Saudi investment in Bangladesh.
BSTI Director General Iqramul Haque would accompany him to Saudi Arabia.
The minister would also perform Umrah.
He is likely to return home on March 5.
