BNP standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy alleged that Awami League is trying to negotiate with Jamaat-e-Islami. He said people and journalists know AL leaders are meeting Jamaat leaders in the jail. However, he didn’t give any particular instance, supporting his claim. He was speaking as a chief guest at a meeting organized by Sammilito Chhatra Forum at the press club in the capital yesterday afternoon. Gayeshwar said Awami League always blames BNP for bringing Jamaat in politics. But the fact is that Jamaat did not get registration in any BNP regime. Rather they got it in the time of Ershad. He also said Jamaat was with Awami League during 1986 election, in which the latter participated, while BNP and Khaleda Zia was fighting against the autocracy of Ershad.
