BNP standing committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury said Awami League fears people thronging to BNP’S November 12 rally. “This is why they are conspiring to foil the rally, despite it is a democratic right of the political parties to hold such programme,” he also said. He was speaking at a Dua Mahfil following the death of former president Abdur Rahman Biswas organized by Bangladesh Youth Forum at national press club in capital in the morning yesterday. Khosru told journalists, on the November 12 rally, Khaleda Zia she would address voting rights, democracy, rule of law, press freedom, security etc in her speech.Mahmud khosru also said, “It is not a matter of sympathy of the ruling party to allow us to hold the rally, rather it is our political and constitutional right.”
In this connection, he said AL destroyed three fundamental foundations of the state.“Appointing the party cadres, they destroyed the administration. That they have destroyed the judiciary as well exemplified in the recent drama around the chief justice. And the parliament is also destroyed as there is no democracy,” he said.
He also said AL destroyed human rights, rule of law, and freedom of expression. There is no security of people. Murders, disappearance etc have gripped their day to day life. A sanguinary situation has been created in Bangladesh, for which AL is responsible, he said. He alleged only the people who are pro-Awami League are benefiting now. This applies for every sphere of the system, from bureaucracy to business to politics.
