Customs Inspector Monir has taken up some legit initiations & tactics to reduce smuggling in the Maitree Express railway service. Even, the general passengers are expressing their relief due to the significance difference. Securities have fortified, conducting frequent & thorough inspection and luggage party was brought under taxation.

Since the opening of the Maitree Express on 14 April 2008. Smugglers had been this route as their safest passage for their ill-works. Government was losing revenue due to their tax evasion from mass amount of smuggled goods. Also, general passengers were being harassed on the daily basis as well.

Darshana Railway authorities informed that, they are regularly searching thoroughly for smuggled goods all over the train. Even under the train. AC Arefin Jahedi & Inspector Monir are in strict stance against the smugglers. Hence, smugglers were forced to reduce their activities.
