Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief (DMR) is receiving a hefty amount of funding to help the disaster-struck families in the haor areas. A special social security project has been taken in order to bring aid to the people may get hit or lose crops in the upcoming flood or mudslides. Truly underprivileged and disaster-struck 3 lacs 30 thousand families will be receiving 30kg rice each. All these and other aspects of this wide project will be covered by the Budget of 2017-18 fiscal year, announces Finance Minister Abul Mal Abdul Muhit. Other segments of this social security service mentions of, 57 cores taka allocated for monthly financial aid for poorest families. 91,447 persons already received total of 82.7 cores taka to get back up, under Employment Generation Program for the Poorest. Special rates and multiple loan receiving facilities for the farmers in the haor areas, is already active.
Including other forms of aids and development costs, total allocated amount estimates to be 8,852 crores taka for this sector. Last year it was initially 8,004 cores. But, then it was revised & final proposition was 8,946 crores taka.
