Bangladesh Eye Hospital (BEH) soon will be building an enormous hospital on 5 bigha land in Uttara. They aims to treat 1 lacs cataract patients each year, in the lowest cost possible. Also, poor families can receive full-free treatment, assured BEH’s shareholder & Eye Surgeon Dr. Istiaq Anwar and Dr. Jahangir Alam.
BEH already has a similar service called Bangladesh Eye Trust Hospital at Beribadh, Md.Pur. At this 5 crores worth branch establishment, they are already performing 300 Cataract operations per day since 2014. Though, they have capability for 700 operations a day. Also, on average 50 persons are getting treated on organization’s award.
They are able to treat the poor solely on DEH funding and other charity. Surgeons there, take no payment. Currently there are 9 regular post-graduate specialists devoting their services. One DEH Prof. always visits Eye Trust Hospital every day.
Dr. Istiaq also boasted about their high-end quality medical equipment at DEH in Dhanmondi. Patients form Trust Hospital are sometimes sent to DEH for higher treatments.
DEH also send 16 members teams including doctors, for their hospital campaigns to the villages. They always bring in patients who are especially in need for eye treatment. DEH bears all their costs of medical treatment, transportation and living costs etc.
