Poet

 Myisha Nawar

“My Cinderella doesn’t wear glass slippers. She walks barefoot everyday. Stepping on ants, people’s spits, a hobo’s shit. She is a drug-sniffing runaway.” -Nusrat Progga in one of the most appraised poems of the night, “My Princesses”. Last evening, June 4 2016, The Daily Our Time organized their fifth poetry reading session. Our Time has been hosting poetry reading sessions consecutively for the last four months since January. This is a platform to welcome the new and uprising poets to share their poems. This month, we were joined by Ronni Ahmed, Nahid Kaiser, Sayeeda Ahmed, Shagufe Hossain, Emraan Khan, Farid Kabir, Nusrat Progga, Thiri Than, Rahat Chowdhury and Tara Sattar. This month, the talented Tara Sattar hosted the event. Despite the relatively small audience size, the reactions following every recital were ear splitting. Among all the poems delivered, the ones by Nusrat Progga, Thiri Than, Sayeeda Ahmed and Nahid Kaiser received the biggest applauses. The people in the Daily Our Time express their highest gratitude towards the enthusiastic audience.
