Approximately 50000 Yemeni children could die of uttermost hunger and disease by Christmas of this year. These children are paying the price for Saudi Arabia’s blockade on Yemen. Several children are suffering from severe acute malnutrition. The blockade has contradicted the Yemeni people desperately needed food and aid. The country also faces the world’s worst cholera upsurge in recent history and Saudi blockade could aggravate the situation. Since 2015, Saudi Arabia and its allies have been launching air strikes and blockading Yemen. The country in engulfed in a bitter power struggle. On one side are Iran backed rebel forces called Houthis, and on other hand, a government backed by Saudi Arabia. Several children are receiving help from Save The Children. The Non-Government Organization (NGO) is covering their transportation costs to a nearby hospital, but the organization’s stocks of food and medicine will run out if the blockade continues.
