First span of the Padma Bridge project had been successfully completed, on 30 September. The project has reached total 49% construction goal at the expense of 6,066 crores taka. The standing committee member from the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges proudly announced this at their meeting. Meantime, they thanked everyone involved in this project. The total estimated budget for this project is 12,133 crores taka.Committee President Md. Ekabbor Hossain led the event. Each senior delegates & officers of Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges parliamentary standing committee were present at the event.They also discussed about the progress of other side projects. Such as, the Third Shitalakshya Bridge. That is being built at the funding of Saudi Government, at the budget of 377 crores taka. It will be 1,290 meter bridge connecting Modonganj-Syedpur of Narayanganj.Many attendees requested the committee to renovate the highways connecting throughout country. Especially, the Jesore-Benapole international highway.
