Four consumer shops were fined Taka 14,000 on charges of selling unhygienic and substandard foods to the customers in the city on Monday.
A team of Department of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) conducted the raid in Sapura area and found Shaymal Store, Shiplu Store, Ashoke Misty Ghar and Shaheen Store for preparing, possessing and selling foods and other consumer items in unhygienic condition.
Subsequently, the team fined Taka 14,000 against the shop owners and realized the fined money instantly.
Apurba Kumar Adhikary, Assistant Director of DNCRP, told BSS that such drive will be continued during the days ahead.
