300,000 immigrants are on a threat of being deported from Haiti and Central America by President Trump. These immigrants have Temporary Protected Status (TPS). Due to natural disaster their home countries were annihilated. Deportation may cause them to leave 273000 U.S. born children behind. So, either these children fathers or mothers will get deported. Therefore, they will grow without one of their parents. TPS is not a pathway to citizenship, and it requires a clean criminal record for renewal every 6-18 months. They are living in U.S. for an average of 19 years. For Honduras and El Salvador immigrants, it means they will be returning to some of the dangerous countries in the world. On the other hand, Haiti still suffers from cholera and food insecurity. Department of Homeland Security says, “These groups no longer need protection from deportation.” But the change would detach many families and uproot people who have been in the U.S. for years.
