 Yesterday Health Minister Zahid Maleque said, Bangladesh is expected to receive 500,000 doses of Chinese vaccine for Covid-19 on May 10 as a gift. He said this after a Cabinet meeting at the Secretariat, reports Dhaka Tribune. He also said a recommendation to extend the ongoing lockdown has been sent for prime minister’s approval. The government is trying to collect Russian and Chinese vaccines . Officials are making preparations to receive the shots that will be used as the first jab, reports The Daily Star. Meanwhile, Dhaka is waiting for Washington’s message on the vaccine issue. The United States has received a diplomatic request from the State Department for cooperation on the vaccine, reports Sarabangla.net. On behalf of Dhaka, it was said that Bangladesh wants the cooperation of the United States for vaccination, whether it is a grant or a purchase. Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen made the announcement on Sunday.
 Momen said, “During his visit to Dhaka, John Kerry said that after vaccinating a certain number of Americans, they will cooperate with the rest of the countries.”
