 On March 26, the Hefajat men went on a rampage in Brahmanbaria and vandalized and torched Brahmanbaria railway station.
 The vandalism continued in phases till March 28. They were demonstrating against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bangladesh.
 They locked into clashes with the police in Dhaka, Chattogram. The businesses were looted and the police were assaulted. At last, 10 platoons of BGB were deployed to bring the situation under control.
 38 government and private offices were torched and 12 people died after sustaining bullet injuries.
 The next day, 56 cases were filed in connection with mayhem where 214 named and 30,000-35,000 unnamed people were sued in the cases.
 However, the family of the deceased has not filed any case yet.
 Md Rais Uddin, Additional SP (Admin & Crime) said that no case was filed from the family of the deceased.
