[2] The Bangladesh Hotel International Association (BIHA) has organized a human chain to demand payment of Tk 40 crore due to quarantine and food supply to doctors, nurses, officers and employees of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
[3] According to the organization, 30 hotel workers were present in front of the administrative building of Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Monday.
[4] BIHA Co-Chairman Khaled Ur Rahman said one of the conditions of the agreement with Dhaka Medical College Hospital was that the hotel authorities would submit the bill to the hospital authorities every 10 days and they would pay the hospital bill within seven working days.
[5] “In the first week of August last year, our July bill was submitted. Later August, September bills were also submitted. But the hotels did not get the money for those three months even after visiting the doors of Dhaka Medical College Hospital and the Ministry of Health. ”
[6] Khaled said the 2020-2021 fiscal year is coming to an end on June 30. They are worried that if the money is not paid, the money allocated in favor of Dhaka Medical College Hospital will be returned.
[7] “Our demand for a fair bill has been approved by the Ministry of Health. Even then it did not reach our hands. ”
[8] BIHA Co-Chairman Khaled Ur Rahman warned to join the movement if the bill is not received by June 30.
[9] He said, “Over the last one year, we have provided all the necessary documents as per the demand of the hospital authorities, DG Health, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Finance. But there was no solution to the bill we deserved. That is why I want to draw the attention of the Prime Minister through my journalist friends. ”
[10]Replying to a question, ATM Saidul Alam, vice-president of BIHA, said the hotels owed about Tk 40 crore to the hospital authorities.
