The number of pneumonia patients in Bhola has suddenly increased during the current monsoon season. Every day 50-60 children are being admitted to Bhola Sadar Hospital, reports jagonews24.com.
Khadija Begum, the guardian of the child from Ward No. 4 of Daulatkhan Municipality said her six-month-old child had been suffering from a cold for several days. She was later rushed to the hospital on Saturday (July 3) morning due to shortness of breath.
Guardian Md. Rubel said, ‘I brought my two-year-old child to Sadar Hospital two days ago if he had a cold. Due to the large number of pediatric patients in the hospital, there were no beds in the children’s ward. So three children in one bed have to be treated together.
Guardian Minju Begum said, “My two-and-a-half-month-old son has pneumonia”. I was admitted to the hospital on Saturday afternoon. Although the nurses have been treating him since his admission, no doctor has come to see the boy till noon yesterday.
Nazma Begum said, “As there are no empty beds in the children’s ward of the hospital, I am treating my child in one bed with another child patient.”
