DOT Desk: [2] Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal said the Election Commission is yet to take the final decision about using electronic voting machines (EVMs) in the next parliamentary election, reports the Daily Star.
[3] “How will the vote be held? How will it be done through EVMs, ballots? Elections of how many constituencies will be held though EVMs and how many through the ballots? We have not made any clear decision on it yet. This matter is now under review,” the CEC said.
[4] “We’ve already had a lot of meetings. There will be more meetings in the future too,” he added.
“The Election Commission will conduct the polls as fairly as possible. It is under our jurisdiction. The procedures are also under our jurisdiction.
People can give their opinions. Political parties can give their opinions. Ultimately, we will review the issues and take the final decision,” said the chief election commission.
