[2] Bangladesh on Sunday closed its border with India for two weeks in view of the sharp increase in the coronavirus cases in the neighbouring country, report Bonk Barta, Sarabangla.
[3] Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen said Bangladesh took the decision in view of the rapid increase of coronavirus infection in India.
[4] Under such circumstances, several hundred passengers have remained stuck at Benapole of Jashore and Petrapole land port in India.[5] No immigration of the passengers was done in the two countries. However, the goods-laden trucks are moving complying with strict health guidelines.
[6] Monir Hossain went to Chennai for cardiac treatment with his 10-year-old boy. After completing the operation, he reached Benapole on Monday and faced the lockdown.
[7] Ahsan Habib, an immigration official at Benapole said that they received no directive to bring back the stranded passengers.
