[2] The money was provided through the International Monetary Fund (IMF), reports Banglanews24.[3] This information was given in a press release sent from the Ministry of Finance yesterday (June 16).[4] Responding to the IMF’s call, the Bangladesh government has provided Tk 75 crore to the debt-ridden poor country and OIC member country Sudan for debt relief.
[5] The government hopes that this funding from Bangladesh as a debit relief will further strengthen Sudan’s struggle to alleviate poverty. Last year, as part of the IMF’s initiative, the Bangladeshi government provided more than Tk 6 crore for poverty alleviation in Somalia.
