Sofian Khan: Police have detained as many as 100 people in an anti-narcotics drive from Hazaribagh in the capital’s old dhaka yesterday. According to the deputy commissioner of Ramna Division, Maruf Hossain Sarder, the drive had begun at Sweeper colony of Ganaktuli in city around 10:30 am and ended at 2 pm. From the spot, a huge amount of narcotic items including Yaba and Phensidyl was recovered by the police.
Law enforcers conducted similar drive at Geneva camp on Saturday and arrested 153 people. Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) launched a nationwide anti-drug drive on May 4 upon receiving directives from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
