[2] Reza Kibria, general secretary of Gono Forum, has resigned from the party post and its membership citing personal reasons, reports The Daily Star.
[3] He, however, said he will continue to cooperate with those who are working to establish democracy, social justice and good governance in Bangladesh.
[4] A press release, signed by Reza himself, was sent to the media houses today in this connection.
[5] “I have resigned from the post of general secretary of Gono Forum and my resignation letter has already been submitted to the party President Dr Kamal Hossain,” the press release said.
[6] He expressed his gratitude to Dr Kamal Hossain and members of the Gono Forum for giving him the chance to serve as the general secretary of the party.
Reza, son of former Awami League Finance Minister Shah AMS Kibria, joined Jatiya Oikyafront before the December 30, 2018 parliamentary election to contest the polls from Habiganj-1 constituency.
On May 5, 2019, he was made general secretary of Gono Forum.
