DOT Desk: [2] A Dhaka court today exempted actress Pori Moni from personal appearance before it in a narcotics case considering her advanced stage of pregnancy, reports The Daily Star.

[3] Judge Mohammad Nazrul Islam of the Special Judge Court-10 of Dhaka passed the order after her lawyer Nilanjona Rifat submitted an application, seeking exemption from personal appearance.
[4] Earlier in the day, Pori Moni’s lawyer completed cross-examining the complainant of the case. Pori Moni was present at the court.

[5] The defence lawyer cross-examined complainant Deputy Assistant Director Md Majibur Rahman of Rab on different points about the recovery of narcotics from Pori Moni’s residence.
[6] After the cross-examination, the judge fixed July 19 for next hearing of the case. On January 5, the same court framed charges against Pori Moni and two others.
