[2] The government took the initiative to hold year-round celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of the country’s independence. Due to the Corona epidemic, many events had to be shortened. The Cabinet has decided to extend this term till March next year (2022), Reports Bangla Tribune.
[3] Yesterday the decision was taken at a cabinet meeting. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina virtually attended the meeting held at the Secretariat.
Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam informed this at a press briefing after the meeting, Reports Daily Bangladesh.
[4] However, there was no discussion on extending the term of Mujib Borsho, announced on the occasion of the Birth Centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Cabinet Secretary said.
[5] Meanwhile, the Cabinet also approved the draft of the speech by the President in the 15th Session of the Eleventh Jatiya Sangsad Assembly.
[6] Earlier, the President delivered a speech on the Birth Centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He said the theme of the President’s speech at the first session next year (2022) would be “50 years of Independence”.
