Imrul Hossain for DOT
Very few people are stepping outside on the first day of a 14-day strict lockdown starting from Friday, reports banglanews24.com.
People stepping outside in defiance of the government directive are being sued and fined.
This was the scenario in Mirpur area of Dhaka. Check-posts of the law enforcers were set up at every strategic point of Mirpur area in Dhaka.
Vehicles are intercepted at the check-posts. The law enforcers were seen asking people why they stepped outside. The vehicles are allowed to pass with valid reasons.
Md Lokman Hossain was going to Gabtoli from Mirpur 14. The law enforcers stopped him and asked the reason for stepping out.
He said that he came out to borrow money from a person. The law enforcers warned him saying that coming out with a flimsy excuse is not acceptable.
