 The heavy rains that continued for two days wreaked havoc on the fish and agricultural sectors in Satkhira, report Desh Rupantor, News Bangla.
 The seedlings and the fish enclosures have been washed away by the rains. A total of 78 unions under seven upazilas and low-lying areas of two municipalities have gone under.
 According to the fisheries department, as many as 19,000 shrimp enclosures have been washed away. The damage due to the heavy rains was estimated at Tk 53 crore. Most of the low-lying areas of Satkhira Municipality are still under water.
Hasan, a resident of Itgachha area of the municipality said that the area gets submerged following a little amount of rainfall.
 Ali Nur Khan Babul, a leader of Satkhira Nagorik Committee said that the people have been suffering from water logging problems due to the absence of a proper drainage system.
