[2] Barrister Rumin Farhana, a BNP MP, made the remarks while addressing the National Assembly yesterday, reports Deshrupantor.
[3] Barrister Rumin Farhana said, ‘Honorable Speaker, another Election Commission is going to be formed up in coming days. The constitution states that there will be an election commission with the chief election commissioner. Subject to the provisions of any law enacted in this regard, the President shall appoint the Chief Election Commissioner and other Election Commissioners. We can easily understand that there must be a law for the formation of the Election Commission and only on the basis of the law, the Election Commission can be formed. ‘
[4] She said, “Honorable Speaker, for the formation of the Election Commission, having a legislation is mandatory. Today we hear about Voters’ Day, we hear about voter lists, we hear about delimitation, we hear about the formation of election commissions.
But after the 2014 and 2016 elections, I left the question of whether these words have any relevance in Parliament”.
