Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen said yesterday that it is up to vaccine-manufacturing countries to choose local pharmaceutical companies for vaccine coproduction in Bangladesh, reports New Age, The Business Standard.
“Once coproduction begins, there will be no vaccine crisis in the country” he added.
While speaking at a handover ceremony of the donation of Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceutical Industries for the people of Palestine yesterday, Momen stated that as long as Palestine is not established as an independent and sovereign state, Dhaka will be beside them and would not accept any occupation (Israel) army there (Palestine).
Noting that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has already sent 50,000 US dollars to Palestine people, the foreign minister said apart from the government, many private organizations and individuals have been sending donations there.
Earlier, the foreign minister said Bangladesh has not changed its position towards Israel and the foreign policy of Bangladesh remains the same as it was during Bangabandhu’s time.
