 Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, mayor of Dakshin City Corporation, said work was underway on an action plan to alleviate waterlogging in the capital within three hours. He told reporters after the inauguration of Sheikh Ras Park at Jatrabari in the capital on Wednesday morning, as per bd-journal.com.
 Fazle Noor Taposh said waterlogging will be eliminated within three hours in case of heavy rains, two hours in case of heavy rains, and one hour in case of normal rainfall.  The mayor said the South City Corporation is working on short, medium, and long-term plans to relieve the people of the capital from waterlogging as soon as possible. Dhaka does not have the capacity to withstand the heavy rains of the current monsoon season, as per somoynews.tv.
 Development work worth Tk 103 crore is underway to alleviate waterlogging in the capital. He also claimed that some benefits have been obtained, according to ittefaq.com.
