 Dr Zahirul Karim, director of the Diseases Prevention Unit of the DGHS said that malaria is spread through mosquito bite. That’s why; steps should be taken so that the mosquito cannot breed and mosquito net has to be used.
 Speaking on malaria, the physician said that usually, people get malaria by being bitten by an infective female Anopheles mosquito. Only Anopheles mosquitoes can transmit malaria and they must have been infected through a previous blood meal taken from an infected person.
 So far, more than 60 malaria parasites have been discovered and four species are responsible for infecting people with malaria.
 It is a matter of happiness that the number of people infected with malaria has decreased. This is due to the consciousness among the people. Plasmodium parasite is responsible for malaria. Five types of parasites are responsible for malaria.
