[2] No officer or employee of the bank can be dismissed before the allegation is proved. The central bank has also instructed not to deprive employees of promotion or force them to resign on the pretext of incompetence. Bangladesh Bank issued a directive on ‘Banking Regulation and Policy Division’ clarifying the issue yesterday, reports Bangla Tribune.
[3] Bangladesh Bank (BB) has issued some fresh instructions to the banks after setting of guidelines on bank officials’ salary structure with a view to ending discrimination, reports Risingbd.com.
[4] The fresh instructions include- Bank-company executives cannot be deprived of the promotions they deserve simply on imposing excuses of failing to achieve the set targets or incompetence. Officers and employees cannot be dismissed on the same pretext.
[5] That means, if there is no specific and proven allegation, the officers and employees cannot be dismissed or forced to resign.
[6] Earlier on Thursday (January 20), Bangladesh Bank issued a directive. Instructions to the starting salary structure of the employees of the private banks of the country is fixed.
[7] At the end of the training period, the minimum total salary and allowance of such bank officials including the basic starting salary will be Tk 39,000. At the same time, the salary of the employees was fixed at Tk 24,000.
