 Madrasa teacher Hafez Abu Bakar has been sentenced to 10 years rigorous imprisonment in a case of attempted rape of a class one student in Chagalnaiya, Feni. Judge Mohammad Osman Haider of the Feni Women and Child Abuse Suppression Tribunal pronounced the verdict at noon, reports MZamin.  Besides, a fine of Tk 50,000 has been imposed, said Farid Uddin Hazari, APP of Feni Women and Child Abuse Suppression Tribunal.
 The convict is Abu Bakar, son of Ali Newaz of Daulatpur village in Chagalnaiya upazila of Feni. Accused Abu Bakr has been absconding since bail, reports Jagonews24.com.
Citing the case file, APP Farid Uddin Hazari further said that Abu Bakar tried to rape the girl by closing the door after the madrasa holiday in Chagalnaiya on September 27, 2016 at noon. The student’s mother filed a case with Chagalnaiya police station.
 Court bench assistant Delwar Hossain said the accused Abu Bakar had been absconding since bail. The court has issued a warrant against him.
 After investigating the case, Inspector of Police Abul Khair Sheikh filed a chargesheet in the court. The court pronounced the verdict after hearing the testimony of 10 people during a long hearing in the case.
