[1] 200-bed ICU hospital this week; another 2140-bed in 14 hospitals
DOT Desk:[2] The government is going to increase the healthcare services for the patients due to the rise in COVID deaths and infections. For this, a COVID Hospital with ultramodern Intensive Care Unit (ICU) facilities with 200-bed is being launched this week, reports Daily Bangladesh.[3] The hospital is being set up at the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) market in the capital’s Mohakhali. Besides, 1000 general beds for COVID patients are also being introduced in this hospital within this month.[4] Talking to the officials on duty at the hospital in this regard, it is learned that all the work is now at the final stage. With the launch of this hospital, they hoped the suffering of the Covid-19 patients will be reduced to a great extent.[5] Preparations for a world-class 200-bed ICU are also nearing completion, they added.
Meanwhile, 2140 more beds also have been introduced in 14 hospitals in the capital.
For the treatment of COVID patients, 2140 beds have already been introduced in the capital. Among them 150-bed at the National Institute of Diseases of the Chest and Hospital (NIDCH) in Mohakhali, 100-bed at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, 150-bed in Shyamoli’s TB Hospital, 100-bed in National Institute of Mental Health and Hospital, 100-bed in Kidney Foundation Hospital and Research Institute Bangladesh, 150-bed in Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital, 80-bed in Sheikh Russel National Gastroliver Institute & Hospital, 200-bed in Kurmitola General Hospital, 46-bed in Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital, 50-bed in Infectious Diseases Hospital, Mohakhali, 150-bed in Old Dhaka Metropolitan Hospital, 200-bed in Mirpur Lalkuthi Hospital, 70-bed in Mitrod Hospital.
When the first wave of coronavirus appeared at a massive rate, a temporary hospital was set up at the Bashundhara Convention Center in collaboration with the government by pitching tents for COVID patients. Later, the hospital ‘disappeared’ without any trace.
