Crisis of pure water in the mountains is old. However, water problem has intensified over the past few years, reports BanglaNews24.  Every year, especially in the dry season, the crisis of clean water in remote areas takes a terrible turn. Water crisis has occurred in different areas of Khagrachhari again. Various organizations are working to supply pure water in the area on their own initiative. As there are no tube wells in remote areas, the locals have been using natural water festivals including fountains, jhiri, chhara and kuya for their daily activities. But every year during the dry season the natural resources dry up. It has to collect water from a few kilometers away.
Although that is not enough.
 Although there is a water crisis almost everywhere in Khagrachhari, this crisis has reached its peak in Laxmichari, Matiranga, Dighinala and Panchhari. On the spot, more than three hundred families in Dullatali, Kalapara, Khagrachhari-Dighinala road, 6 miles joint farm, Karbari Para, Amtali and 9 miles area of Thakurchhara in the district headquarters have been in severe water crisis for several months. They are not getting water for daily use including eating and bathing.
