 Private medical colleges have to appoint 75% permanent teachers. The cabinet has approved a draft stating that no more than 25 per cent part-time teachers can be retained. The approval was given via virtual cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The Prime Minister from the Ganobhaban and Ministers from the Cabinet Division of the Secretariat joined the meeting. After the meeting, Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam said this at the Secretariat. According to the draft law, the establishment of medical and dental colleges in metropolitan areas would require two acres and four acres land in other areas, reports Jago News 24.com.
 The cabinet secretary said academic approval of private medical college, academic approval renewal, educational activities, how many students there will be, student-teacher ratio, teachers’ qualifications, colleges under which university, why financial management is nedded, what kind of facilities should be provided? – these issues have been included in the draft law.
