 This is being done by dividing the land into plots intp agriculture, housing, forestry, watershed commercial and industrial development, tourism etc. according to the quality of the land.
 The purpose of this project is to establish computerized land data storage system centrally to facilitate decision making on land management at field level. Initially, the cost of the project was estimated at Tk 448.40 crore. The project will be implemented with full government funding. Now the cost of the project is reduced to Tk 338.70 crore. As a result, the project will save Tk 110 crore. 57,349 mouzas of 4,562 unions in 493 upazilas of 64 districts of the country are under this project. The project will be implemented from the current time till June 2024.
 The project will be presented to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for final approval.
 The project will be presented at the ECNEC meeting today (September 29). The Prime Minister and ECNEC Chairperson Sheikh Hasina will preside over the ECNEC meeting from Ganobhaban.
 Zakir Hossain Akand, member (secretary) of the Agriculture, Water and Rural Institutions Division of the Planning Commission, said, “the project will be presented at the ECNEC meeting on Tuesday. A separate unit will be set up under the Ministry of Land to keep the activities of land zoning active. ’
