 Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq said that the judiciary was hamstrung through killing Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, reports Bangladesh Pratidin. “It was not allowed to lodge any case after the killing. The judiciary was hamstrung through indemnity. After coming to power, Awami League revoked the black law and took steps to begin trial proceedings of the killing,” the Minister said. “I am happy to inaugurate Munshiganj Chief Judicial Magistrate Bhaban. I wanted to attend the inaugural ceremony in person but could not do so due to the novel coronavirus. The government is constructing a Judicial Academy in Shibchar of Madaripur,” the Minister said while inaugurating Munshiganj Chief Judicial Magistrate Bhaban virtually yesterday.
With Senior District and Sessions Judge Hosne Ara Begum in the chair, the inaugural ceremony was addressed by Mrinal Kanti Das MP, Law Secretary Golam Sarwar, among others.
