Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) in a combing operation stated dismantling illegal billboards, banners and sign boards for not paying taxes, reports barta24.com. The operation led by the DNCC Mayor began yesterday at 10am from Gulshan-2 circle. At the start of the operation, two billboards of Amin Mohammad foundation measuring 2160 sq. feet and 216 sq. feet were destroyed by bulldozers, reports kalerkantho.com. The Mayor said businessmen will have to abide by rules in doing business. Many thought the city has no guardians. The city corporation is the guardian of the city. The businessmen whoever they are must get approval of the corporation in doing business.
He said it is simply clear that none can use billboards or sign boards without paying taxes. The traders thought they would be able to do business by managing somebody without paying taxes. But those days have gone. Now you pay tax and get sweet. If you don’t pay tax, pay a fine.
