Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park project was supposed to be completed by December 2019, reports Sarabangla.
However, the project was not completed in the stipulated time. Only 56.45 percent of the project has been completed.
Against this backdrop, the deadline of the project is being extended by two years. At the same time, the project cost is doubling.
The second revised proposal has already been sent to the Planning Commission.
Preparation has been completed to place the proposal in the meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) scheduled to be held today.
Three more projects will be placed in the Ecnec meeting. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and also the Ecnec Chairperson will preside over the meeting from her official residence Ganabhaban.
The original cost of the project was Tk 70.32 crore. The cost was revised and then it climbed to Tk 160.61 crore.
LGED and the Forest Department are implementing the project.
