 Just seven days before the death of retired Major Sinha Mohammad Rashed, OC Pradeep caused another horrific incident. Bakhtiyar, a UP member of the nearby Ukhia police station, was taken away at midnight. Although there was no case against him in Teknaf or Ukhia police station, a drug case was filed on the day of ‘gunfight’. Pradeep also went to Bakhtiyar’s house on the night of the ‘gunfight’. On July 23, police came to the house of Bakhtiyar Ahmed, a member of Rajapalang in Ukhia, Cox’s Bazar. At least 40/50 policemen led by Teknaf Police Officer-in-Charge Pradeep Kumar Das and Ukhia Police Officer-in-Charge Morzina Akter entered the house. Then they took Bakhtiyar saying that one accused has to be identified. Teknaf OC Pradeep Kumar Das and Ukhia Police Station OC Morzina Akter came to the house of Ukhia Bakhtiar member again on the evening of July 23. At this point, the close circuit camera was broken. The search was then carried out.
 Meanwhile, news spread around 12pm that two people had been killed in a ‘gunfight’ in Hnila, Teknaf. The news also came on a Facebook page called Teknaf Voice around 2.30 pm. By contacting there, the family came to know that two members named Bakhtiyar and Mohammad Taher had died in a ‘gunfight’. Their bodies arrived at Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital around 5.30 am.
 Earlier, a drug case was filed at Teknaf police station on the night of the 23rd in which case, 15 people were accused including Bakhtiyar.
The family members of Bakhtiyar want to to take legal action in this regard. The wife of the Bakhtiyar member’s son said OC Pradeep Das took Tk 18 lacs from Bakhtiar’s family members
