 This time a mother elephant has entered Bangladesh from Myanmar. The elephant entered the Damdamia area of Hnila Union in Teknaf after crossing the Naf River on Monday afternoon. The elephant was later rescued by Teknaf Range’s Southern Forest Division of the district, reports Bangladesh Pratidin.  Confirming the matter, Teknaf Range official Syed Ashiq Ahmed said, a mother elephant has crossed the Naf River from Myanmar and entered Bangladesh. As per the sources, in the past, elephants used to move regularly in the hills between Bangladesh and Myanmar. Large crowds of elephants movement is disrupting as there is a barbed wire fence on the Arakan side of Myanmar, Rohingya refugees and deforestation, reports Inqilab.
