 Khaleda Zia’s family will also demand to take her abroad for better treatment. At the same time, the party’s lawyers will approach the court regarding the permanent bail of the BNP chairperson. After 25 consecutive months of imprisonment, Khaleda Zia was released for 6 months on March 25 by an executive order of the government. The condition was, at this time she would take treatment from home, can’t go out of the country.
A senior BNP leader said, “Khaleda Zia was released on the basis of her family’s request. They then mediated the matter. Now again her family will apply to the government to extend the release period.”
The leader also said, “There is nothing to panic about the treatment abroad. Because even before this Khaleda Zia was taken treatment in Singapore, London and America. As her physical condition has not improved much at present, her family is considering taking her abroad for treatment. And since her eldest son Tareq Rahman is in London, it is normal for Khaleda Zia to go abroad for treatment.”
