 A virtual programme has been chalked out to observe the historic ‘Concert for Bangladesh’ due to the Covid-19 pandemic, reports Kaler Kantho, Bangladesh Pratidin.
 Friends of Freedom, a New York-based organization working with foreign friends of the Liberation War organized the programme.  Like previous years, an elaborate porogramme was chalked out to observe the anniversary, said Shamim Al Amin, chief coordinator of Friends of Freedom. As per the plan to observe the anniversary, a convention centre was booked. However, the programme was cancelled due to the coronavirus situation.  This time, the 49th anniversary of the historic concert will be observed online.  The ‘Concert for Bangladesh’ held in August in 1971 in Madison Square Garden, New York to raise international awareness and raise funds for refugees from Bangladesh during the Liberation War.
