According to Finance Ministry sources, in Bangladeshi currency it is about Tk 78 crores 93 lakh, reports Jago News.
Recently, the Economic Relations Department sent a letter to the Finance Secretary seeking his views and objections on the draft exchange of notes.
The letter said, “The Japanese government has expressed interest in providing one billion Japanese yen in assistance to the Bangladesh government for the current situation caused by the coronavirus.”
The country has already been informed about the policy consent of the Bangladesh government to accept this grant. The letter further said, “The Embassy of Japan has been requested to send the draft of the grant to the relevant Exchange of Notes for comment.
The Finance Department’s opinion or objection is needed to the exchange of notes before sending an opinion to the Japanese embassy.”
In this situation, it is requested to send comments or objections on the draft exchange of notes to the Economic Relations Department on an urgent basis.
