Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh said, “Analyzing data from the World Health Organization (WHO), it was found that people over the age of 60 were more likely to be infected with the coronavirus. So, we humbly request people in their 60s not to go to markets of sacrificial animals on the eve of Eid-Ul-Adha this year, reports The Business Standard.
He made this call while speaking at a seminar on waste disposal and proper management on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha 2020 held at Nagarbhaban yesterday, said a press release issued by the DSCC, reports UNB. Taposh said mobile court drives will be conducted to ensure proper maintenance of health guidelines at the cattle markets.
The mayor said, “There’s no scope to take Covid-19 lightly. Those who will go to the cattle market will have to use mask and hand gloves and maintain social distancing.”
